TrueSpectra Demonstrates ColorWave Graphics Rendering Technology on BeOS Boston, Mass--BeOS Developers Conference August 4, 1997 Today TrueSpectra Inc. presented a first look at their innovative graphical rendering engine, ColorWave, on the BeOS platform. ColorWave stands out as a graphics technology, with its remote rendering capabilities, ideal for the Internet, and its object oriented design. This combination uniquely positions TrueSpectra to quickly exploit component software platforms and build multiple platform versions of its critically acclaimed Photo>Graphics software. Following on the excitement generated with the original release of Photo>Graphics for OS/2, the recently released Photo>Graphics PRO V2.0, and the upcoming release of Photo>Graphics for Windows 95/NT, the technology preview of Photo>Graphics for BeOS builds upon the original creative designs of its predecessors. TrueSpectra's patent-pending ColorWave graphics rendering engine, integrates resolution independent graphic objects with highly efficient, real-time rendering. The resulting ability to create fully scalable professional graphics without traditional boundaries between pixel image processing and vector draw, is unique in the industry. "The favorable impression left by the BeOS performance offers a convincing potential for the use of BeOS as both a client and a server platform for ColorWave graphics rendering technology," says TrueSpectra's president Stephen Sutherland. "Their innovative UI underpinnings also offer an interesting potential for future ColorWave innovations." Dramatically more effective and less resource demanding than existing conventional image and graphics software applications, ColorWave supports the seamless design of graphic-centric documents with bitmap images, vector graphics and artistic text all in one application. Software based on the ColorWave rendering engine, such as Photo>Graphics, can be quickly adapted to take advantage of strengths inherent in leading edge platforms, including the BeOS.
About TrueSpectra TrueSpectra Inc., established 1992, is dedicated to the design and development of true object-based image processing and graphics applications. Recognized for its advanced object technologies including a high performance 32 bit render engine, ColorWave, TrueSpectra products dynamically process interacting objects consisting of high-resolution 24 bit images, graphics, text, transformations and effects. Coupled with TrueSpectra launched its first ColorWave application in 1996, bringing the benefits of object technology to graphic arts where ease-of-use, performance, and quality are essential. A preview version of the software demonstrated at the Be conference will be available from the Be Web site this summer.
