Spellswell For BeOS Free Upgrade

SANTA CRUZ, CALIFORNIA (November 9, 1998) -- Working Software, Inc. today announced version 1.4, a free upgrade of their Spellswell For BeOS spelling checker for use with Be®, Inc.'s Be Operating System (BeOS). Version 1.4 includes user interface improvements and support for the new BeOS R4. Spellswell For BeOS includes all of the features of Spellswell Plus for MacOS, including checking for spelling, common typos, extra spaces between words, 'a' before words starting with vowels and 'an' before words starting with consonants, repeated words, spaces before punctuation, one or two spaces after periods, capitalization at the start of sentences, mixed numbers and letters, uncapitalized proper nouns, improperly hyphenated words like "back-up", HTML spellchecking for web page authors, and 'on-the-fly' selection of dictionaries.

Spellswell For BeOS utilizes BeOS's advanced messaging component technology to work with several BeOS applications just as if it is a built-in menu item. Spellswell For BeOS's spelling suggestions include phonetic suggestions as well as suggestions involving common typos, nearby keys, missing letters, added letters, wildcards and more.

Optional medical, legal, scientific, business and geographical Spellswell dictionaries are available. French, German, Spanish and other languages will be available soon.
