Driversoft Driversoft announces LDAP client and API's for the
BeOS
Salt Lake City, UT - November 12, 1998: Driversoft, Inc. today announced
their LDAP client software for the BeOS tentatively set for release in
the first quarter of 1999. Driversoft is also developing an LDAP API for
the BeOS®.
Driversoft's LDAPv3 client allows the BeOS to connect to and retrieve
data from any LDAP server such as Novell NetWare, the OpenLDAP
projects' slapd and other X500 based directories. LDAP is often used to
access company wide address books and internet directories. Using
Driversoft's LDAP API, developers will be able to make products such as
mail clients and browsers LDAP aware.
The LDAP client is the first step in Driversoft's goal to make the BeOS
a fully functional directory service client. "With LDAP we have a good
base allowing us to access most major directory services" says Douglas
Britsch, Driversoft's Director of Technical Services.
