Mediapede Showcases UltraDV -- Powerful Digital Video Editing for Everyone
The Next Generation Media Creation Tool on the Be OS Offers Incredible Flexibility and Power with Breakthrough Ease.

LAS VEGAS, NV -- COMDEX/FALL '98, BeOS Booth S71114 -- November 16, 1998 -- Mediapede, the innovative media software start-up, is showcasing UltraDV for the BeOS Release 4. UltraDV software is powerful and easy to use digital video editing for everyone, including video professionals, videographers, multimedia authors and Web developers. UltraDV breaks free from the limitations found in other video editing systems, enabling a faster and more creative workflow while delivering features and performance previously found only in expensive software and hardware solutions.

"UltraDV is a tremendous addition to the BeOS family of software products," said Jean-Louis Gassée, President of Be, Inc. "It is wonderful to see a product truly take advantage of our multi-threaded capabilities."

"I have found UltraDV to be the easiest, fastest, most exciting new video product to be introduced in a long time," raved Dan Lunin, Chief Engineer at CNN Convention News Network. "I purchased new systems just to operate this application. It will save me incredible amounts of time and effort. No more rendering!"

UltraDV's fresh approach to video starts with the Browser, a flexible media bin that lets users organize the data for each project. Media elements can be graphically dragged and dropped to and from the browser, the media palette, a track or the stage directly. Even video and audio transitions are stored in the browser window for visual editing and previewing. Transitions are as simple as dragging from the browser to a cue to apply the effect. UltraDV imposes no artificial limits on the scope of projects. The software offers an unlimited number of media tracks--audio, video and graphics--limited only by CPU speed. Workspaces and output settings are quickly customized in the browser for fast retrieval. Since UltraDV is BeOS Media Kit savvy, projects can be output in any number of frame rates, sizes, color spaces and formats. UltraDV¹s quick but powerful interface enables incredibly fast creation of digital video, editing of existing material or compositing from many sources.

Steve Marks, President of Creative Productions said, "This is it! This is exactly what I have been waiting for!"

Ultra DV Key Features:

  • Combines many media types in real-time including audio, video, images and MIDI in an unlimited number of tracks.
