Company Expands Management Team with Industry Veteran to Drive High Growth and Expansion in Multimedia Operating Systems Market

MENLO PARK, Calif., April 7, 1999 - Be, Incorporated, the developer of the multimedia operating system (BeOS ®), today announced the appointment of Roy Graham as executive vice president and chief marketing officer. In this new position, Graham will be responsible for shaping corporate strategies that will expand worldwide sales channels and entry into new markets. Graham will report directly to Be, Incorporated President and CEO Jean-Louis Gassée.

Graham has more than 20 years of U.S. and international management experience. He has held a variety of posts in the areas of general management, marketing, sales, technical support and product development for key private and public high technology companies. Graham's career thus far has been highlighted by taking leading edge products into market leadership positions in the networking, server and desktop areas.

Graham comes to Be, Incorporated from Wyse Technology, where he most recently served as senior vice president of sales, marketing and customer service. He played a critical role in establishing the company as the market share leader in the thin client market which resulted in a successful initial public stock offering in 1999.

Prior to Wyse Technology, Graham held several posts with Tandem Computers, including director and general manager of the Windows NT Business Group, where he built the division from concept to market introduction. Earlier in his Tandem tenure, Graham served as director of the NonStop Systems and Communications Group and manager of the Communications product line.

Before that, Graham spent time in Europe with Telematics International and Integrated Software Systems Corporation. He was the general manager of the DEC Access product line and director of marketing for Telematics and served as managing director of Integrated Software Systems. Graham also spent almost a decade with Digital Equipment Corporation in various marketing and technical posts in the U.S. and Europe.
