The Be Enthusiasts Program is a free online program created for non-commercial developers who use the Be web site as their primary source for technical and marketing resources and information.

Registered Be Enthusiasts receive a Be Developer ID number and password and are automatically entered into the Be Developer database. Enthusiasts can create and modify their developer record to keep Be current on their contact and project information.
Technical Support is vital to developers throughout the development process. This program offers several types of support.
- Access to the Developer Library, including:
- Sample Code
- Tutorials
- Newsletter Articles indexed by topic
- Be Developer Conference transcripts
- Access to the BeOS Bug Database which allows developers to submit
and track bugs.
- The Be Book (online version of the official BeOS Developer Documentation)
Package Builder, a development tool that allows developers to build packages that users can install with SoftwareValet.
Be Developers are our partners and it is our goal to keep them updated on BeOS development. To this end, Be Enthusiasts receive the following publications:
- BeDevInfo electronic mailing list
- The Be Developer Newsletter, a weekly electronic publication which includes development details, tips from Be engineers and the technical support team, as well as a regular column by Jean-Louis Gassée.
Software Promotion and Distribution
The Promotion and Distribution of software can be a time-consuming and resource-intensive task. Be Enthusiasts are invited to submit their freeware and shareware applications to BeWare, the online catalog of Be software hosted on Be's ftp site.
BeWare is a highly-trafficked area of the Be web site and represents a great way for third-party applications to get exposure. There is no charge for submitting software to BeWare
Be Enthusiasts must buy their own copy of the BeOS, but they are entitled to discounts on future BeOS upgrades.
