Connecting to the Internet
The BeOS speaks TCP/IP, the native language of the Internet. Tools to communicate online are built right in, and many others have been developed by third parties. Shown above:
- BeMail - A standard POP/SMTP mail client included with the BeOS. Will automatically download your mail, inform you it has arrived, handle attachments, etc.
- NetPositive - Be's blazingly fast built-in browser handles frames, forms and tables. See the web faster than you've ever seen it before.
- BeInformed - A third party newsreader application that keeps you connected to the chaos that is Usenet (or any other private NNTP newsgroups).
- Felix - A third party graphical IRC client.
The BeOS allows easy access not only to the Internet, but to your machine, via a collection of Network Servers.
