What types of computers can BeOS® run on?

The BeOS® operating system has been designed to run on multiple hardware configurations. We wanted to build a powerful, versatile environment for a new generation of users. When you talk BeOS, you're talking multi-platform.

Our BeOS has been optimized for both the PowerPC* and Intel Pentium* II processor architectures. In fact, you can install BeOS without removing your existing installation. Whether you're on Macintosh or Windows systems, BeOS makes the perfect companion.* Besides, you'll be amazed at the performance gains you can achieve, all without having to upgrade your existing hardware.*

The BeOS is also available for an increasing number of laptops, giving you extremely powerful mobile computing power.*

(*Because of the large number of combinations, not all possible computer configurations supported at this time; please refer to the BeOS Systems Ready Lists. BeOS is a multi-processor-capable operating system. We recommend multiple processors for more demanding applications.)
