It keeps rebooting

Situation:

The BeOS boot floppy starts booting and gets to the part about "Uncompreessing the BeOS boot loader" and promptly reboots.

Resolution:

This is usually because of an original Cyrix 6x86 (non-MX) processor. This specific incarnation of that processor is not supported. Another possible cause is an unsupported motherboard chipset (a.k.a. glue chipset). Supported motherboard chipsets are on the ready list. When the processor or chipset returns information the BeOS does not expect, the system reboots. Please visit our BeOS Ready List to see what other processors the BeOS supports.

You may be able to upgrade your processor to make your system compatible.
