My Demo CD doesn't work

Situation:

The Demo CD fails in a number of places, most notably at boot time.

Things to try:

1. The Demo CD is provided as is, as a configuration compatibility tester and taste test, and is NOT SUPPORTED by Be, Inc. When purchased from BeDepot, you agree to this before the purchase. Now that other resources are beginning to ship Demo CDs as well, they may not be informing you of this. The full purchase price helps us pay for the technicians that answer the email and phones. To accomodate the lower price, you pass up the support costs, and the functionality is limited to encourage you to purchase the full version. This doesn't leave you without options, but you will not be able to contact Be Technical Support. Having said that, keep reading.
2. The known issues with the BeOS are presented in the BeFAQs. The most common problem is not believing the hardware specifications we have posted on the BeOS Ready List:

   We're serious about what's on this list. We're not lying to you. Make sure all your components are listed by name on the ready list. This is the only compatibility list we have, be positive that your components match exactly.

3. If you still cannot get the CD to boot, feel free to use the rest of our support site to determine the problem. Most notably use the FAQs or purchase the commercial version which we can support. Then we can try to help you configure your computer to work with the BeOS. We recognize there are systems that will not run the BeOS, even when some of the requirements are met, and we will continually be updating the commercial version of the BeOS to correct as many problems as we can.

Information we're (not) collecting:

We do not answer support requests for the Demo CD. We will be glad to answer presales questions on the full version, but we will not help you with the Demo CD, per the above conversation.
