Multiple ethernet cards
Situation: Multiples of the same kind of card do not work in the BeOS. There is a limitation on the existing drivers and architecture that prevent the BeOS from being able to use 2 cards with the same driver. For instance: 2 3c90x cards will not work together in the BeOS. 2 DEC cards will also not work together. A DEC 21040/1 and an NE2000 jumpered card will work together fine. A 3c90x and a DEC 21040/1 card will work together fine. etc. Things to try: Use 2 compatible cards of different styles. We do plan on changing this, but it requires a lot of work. Resolution: Feel free to let us know about troubles you're having with multiple cards and we'll collect all we can for the engineers. Just be warned we may not reply to your mail as we are only collecting the information at this time. Watch Breaking News for information as we have it.
