Can't Initialize Drive (Sorry)

Situation:

There is a series of Western Digital drives that aren't initializing in BeOS. This happens in installation during the "Initialize" section or during any other time you run Drive Setup.

We're not sure why yet, but we're hoping with information from people with these symptoms we can pinpoint the problem.

Things to try:

THIS IS FOR THE ADVANCED TECHNOWEENIE. You have been warned.
Boot to the BeOS CD and go into the Installer window. Press Control-Command-Shift-T (Alt is the BeOS Command key) In Terminal, type the following: /boot/optional/experimental/diagnostics/ideinfo /dev/disk/ide/ata/0/master/0/raw You should end up with a screen or two that look like this: IDE device info: Model number: WDC AC34000L Firmware revision: 32.41N35 Serial number: WD-WT3510627083 Protocol type: ATA Disk type: Non-removable media blah blah blah... We want this information. This will give us lots of pesky details on the drive and how it is set up. Please head over to the CTS form (linked below) and paste this information in.
