Be Incorporated Appoints John Moon as Vice President of Business Development

MENLO PARK, Calif.-- June 20, 2000 -- Be Incorporated (Nasdaq: BEOS), creator of software platforms that enable rich media and Web experiences on Internet appliances and personal computers, today announced the appointment of industry veteran John Moon to the post of vice president of business development.
As vice president of business development, Moon is responsible for cultivating strategic relationships with application service providers, media portals and other Internet content and service vendors. These relationships will enable Be to offer its licensees a robust end-to-end solution for delivering Internet appliances and supporting services.
Moon brings over 20 years of senior management experience to his new role at Be. His industry experience includes having served as vice president of imaging products with Apple Computer, where he was responsible for sales of over $2 billion and led product marketing, engineering and operations for the Imaging Products division.
After working at Apple, Moon founded Epix Imaging Inc., a digital camera hardware and software development company. Moon also served as an advisor to FotoNation, an imaging software company, and Pix.Com, a spin-off of Electronics for Imaging.
