Support for M-Systems' DiskOnChip flash disk storage system makes BeIA an ideal software platform for the new class of Internet appliances by enabling faster development of cost-effective devices that offer a high level of reliability, functionality and performance. Utilized as a flash-based disk for local storage, DiskOnChip enables easy software version upgrades, which is critical for the Internet appliance market where advances with protocols constantly occur.
