Lost Marble Unveils 2D Vector Based Animation Tool For Be Operating System
Moho on BeOS Brings PC Animators a New Concept in 2D Animation
NEW YORK, NY, June 22, 1999 -- Lost Marble, a leading developer of
professional multimedia applications, today unveiled Moho for BeOS®, a
2D, vector-based animation program at PC Expo in New York. Moho is a
complete 2D animation system for BeOS for professional and hobbyist
animators. Moho provides a complete set of tools to easily create exciting
2D animation. BeOS is an operating system designed for digital media
applications on desktop computers and Internet appliances.
Moho contains a vector-based drawing component that makes it suitable
for illustration tasks. The animation tools include manipulators for
controlling skeletons, inverse kinematics, which give users the ability to
grab and move a character's bone structure and freely experiment with a
character's pose. Moho is also well suited to be used in conjunction with
video. With its multi-layer and text animation capabilities, you can import
movies as backgrounds and animate text over the sequence of images. This
makes Moho useful for simple video titling, scrolls and crawls, or custom
complex text deformation.
Moho will be available in early July and will require BeOS Release 4.5
or higher.
"Moho gives PC animators the tools to get their job done in the
quickest, most efficient and creative manner possible," said Mike
Clifton founder of Lost Marble. "We chose to develop Moho for BeOS
because it delivered on performance enhancements unlike legacy operating
systems that were extremely sluggish. Moho users will truly reap the
benefits of multiprocessor support when rendering batch files on BeOS."
"Moho is a tremendous addition to the BeOS family of software products,"
said JudeAnn Smith, Video and Imaging Evangelist for Be Inc. "It is
wonderful to see a product that is truly unique for 2D animators and that
takes advantage of our multi-threaded capabilities."
