Under the agreement, MetaCreations will work with Be to bring Bryce 4 to BeOS. Bryce 4 is MetaCreations' popular terrain-generation and animation software. Bryce 4 for BeOS will ship in the second half of 1999. MetaCreations will make the product available through BeDepot, Be's online store for Be software, MetaCreations' online store, and other outlets. Graphic artists, designers, animators, Web designers, game developers and many others use Bryce to create realistic scenes and animate them. The BeOS version of Bryce is unique in its support of multiple processors enabling scenes to be rendered very rapidly. Using the multi-processor capabilities of BeOS, Bryce divides the work of rendering complex scenes among as many processors as are available -- one, two, four, or eight -- making the BeOS version of Bryce high performance.
