Easel Brings Desktop Digital Painting And Photo Retouching To Be Operating System Easel Brings Virtual Canvas to Life for Computer Artists NEW YORK, NY, June 22, 1999 - Human Touch, Inc. today announced that it will ship Easel, a 2D painting and photo-retouching application for BeOS®, the Be operating system designed for digital media applications on desktop computers and Internet appliances. A beta version of the product will be unveiled at PC Expo in New York this week, with general release scheduled for this summer. Easel is an easy to use digital paint tool designed to exploit the power of BeOS. It allows users the flexibility to modify existing scanned imagery or create new images using its painting tools. Easel embraces the tools traditional and digital artist are accustomed to, from organic brushing techniques to media rich features such as filters, layers, color correction, and photo retouching. Easel is a unique approach to digital desktop painting. Its performance offers the user fluid real-time strokes and the ability to imitate the natural feeling of painting on a canvas. "Easel encompasses the strengths of both Adobe PhotoShop™ and Fractal Painter®," said Bernard Gallet, CEO of Human Touch, Inc. "It truly blurs the lines between traditional and digital painting.
