In this position, Smith will be responsible for driving and expanding the company's revenue in the reseller, OEM and retail sales channels. Smith will report directly to Be Incorporated Chief Marketing Officer Roy Graham. Smith has more than 18 years of U.S. and international sales, sales management and professional services experience. He has held a variety of posts in the areas of general management, sales and sales management for key private and public software companies. Smith's career has been highlighted by his ability to grow revenue streams and increase the number of customers and partners of leading edge companies. Smith comes to Be, Inc. from Decisionism, a leading supplier of software and services for analytical applications. As vice president of worldwide sales, he fueled the startup company's growth, by signing customers such as IBM, US West Technologies, Airtouch Cellular, Time Warner, Bank of America, Con Agra and Nordstrom, and creating business relationships with Oracle, Hyperion Solutions, Microsoft and Walker Interactive. "This is an important appointment for Be since it comes at a time when we're looking to broaden our reach both in terms of customers and increased channel partners," said Roy Graham of Be, Inc.
