I can't mount my HFS disk

We are starting to see this more often and are looking into possibilities.

Things to try:

Try a few things for us to start narrowing it down:

    1. Try to mount all your Apple/OEM MacOS Install CDs. Which ones work and which don't?

    2. Format a floppy in the MacOS and leave it empty. Try to mount this in the BeOS. What is the result?

    3. Try disconnecting all external SCSI devices and try again. Did anything change?

    4. Boot the MacOS with extensions off and then try booting the BeOS with the BeOS Launcher application. Then try to mount it again.

Information we're collecting:

Please go to the support form and include the following:

  • What version of Disk First Aid are you using on your system?
  • Are you using other repair utilities as well?
  • If so, which ones and what versions?
  • What format are all the disks in your system (1 HFS, 2 HFS+)?
  • What MacOS version are you running on your normal boot drive?
Keep an eye on the Be web site and we'll let you know when we hear anything else from them concerning this.
