  • Introduction to BeOS Programming
    Covers messaging and basic interface kit.

  • Media Input / Output
    Covers getting media data in and out of applications. GameSound, SoundPlayer, using classes that wrap around nodes for Video and Audio Input / Output.

  • MediaFile / MediaTrack
    Covers the use of these classes.

  • Efficient Graphics and User Interface
    Covers ways to make applications perform and look better (everything from using offscreen bitmaps to View Transactions and the view state stack).

  • Device Drivers
    The fundamentals of programming kernel add-ons and device drivers. Covers issues like synchronization, memory usage, and the kernel architecture (busses, modules, drivers).
