What you say?

Last week we talked about the Sounds icon, which allows you to set your favorite sound bytes to system events. But what if you don't like any of the sound files included with BeOS? If you want custom sounds that elude even the vast reaches of the Internet, SoundRecorder is for you.

Use a sound card and microphone to capture your voice saying "BeOS Rules!" for your startup sound. Or, record your cat Mittens. Anything is possible. Grab a bit of music from your favorite CD. Drag it into 3dsound and mix it up a little. Add narration to your home movies. Go crazy.

When you have a sound to your liking, save it by clicking the disk icon or simply drag it to the Desktop or to a folder. Done. It's that easy.
